Billy’s Funeral expenses and Charity

Most of you know who and what I am to Billy.

If you don’t, very briefly, brothers and best mates all of my adult life.

Billy was loved by all, whether that was through military, yachting, football, socialising plus much more, he touched many people in his 45 years with us.

Which is evident by the support everyone has given since it happened.

It’s been truly overwhelming.

For those who don’t know, Billy tragically took his own life on Monday of this week.

Sadly, no one knew his inner struggles and he never spoke about it to a soul.

This has to end.

So, we want to step in and help to support the family with funeral costs etc, and to prevent this tragedy happening to others.

We all know Billy has lived abroad for many years and getting him home to his family is paramount.

Saying our goodbyes and sitting with him prior to the funeral is the most important thing right now.

He is currently in Savannah Georgia waiting to come home hopefully this week.

Even things like flowers have hidden costs, he had so many bloody nicknames. Ha!

Basically, we want to give him the send-off he deserves. His Mum and Sisters need space and time.

So, I’m doing this on behalf on them.

The money raised will be helping with funeral costs and secondly going to support a local charity Man Down Cornwall.

Man Down is a Cornwall based non-profit Community Interest Company.

They provide informal peer-support talking groups all over Cornwall for men with mental health concerns.

Their mission is to end the stigma and reduce the number of male suicides in Cornwall.

So, two really good causes, I appreciate totally that times are super tough right now so honestly don’t worry if you can’t or it’s only a little.

Everything is appreciated even if that’s just talking to someone that might be feeling down.

Mental Health needs to be spoken about, so let’s get TALKING! and put an end to the needless and devastating grief that not talking leaves behind.

The funds will be going to Mary baker, Billy’s mum.
