Yesterday, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. My brother, Bill "Billy" Elliott, a 41-year-old Navy and Army veteran, passed away after a long and difficult battle with the invisible wounds of war and life. Though he tried to carry the weight on his own, in the end, the pain became too heavy to bear.
He was more than his struggles. He was funny, kind-hearted, and could light up a room with his jokes and smile. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back—sometimes even before you asked. He was a father, a brother, a son, an uncle, a friend, and a fighter.
He leaves behind a 20-year-old son who is just beginning his journey into adulthood, now carrying the grief of losing his dad far too soon.
Our family is trying to raise $3,500 to cover the cost of cremation and basic final arrangements. Unfortunately, he had no life insurance, no savings, and no estate to draw from. We just want to give him the respectful goodbye he deserves.
If you are able to give, no matter how small, your support will help us honor his memory with dignity. And if you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing this with others who might.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, your kindness, and for helping us carry this burden.
With gratitude,
The Elliott Family
