Hi, my name is Dan Kitchen. Many of you who are video game fans know me as the designer of such classic Atari 2600 games CRACKPOTS™, GHOSTBUSTERS™, KUNG-FU MASTER™, DOUBLE DRAGON™ and RIVER RAID II™ to name just a few.
I'm reaching out today to ask for your help to support Billy's Midway Arcade in Hawthorne, New Jersey. The arcade proprietor, Billy Smith, is a dear friend who has struggled throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to keep the arcade in business while the state-mandated closures continue.
Knowing the financial strain this is putting on Billy and his wife Allyson, I've decided to launch this GoFundMe to raise money for Billy's rent and utilities to ensure that the arcade we all know and love will be open when we, as a community, finally turn the corner on these challenging times.
Anyone who has been to Billy's Midway Arcade knows the passion and dedication Billy and Ally have put into recreating the experience of visiting an arcade from the 1980's. With over 100 classic games ranging from the 50’s thru the early 2000’s, Billy's Midway Arcade has quickly become a beloved destination for arcade game players from across the tri-state area.
If you're already a regular at the arcade, or have always wanted to relive those youthful days when a pocket full of quarters meant
you could play all day, then please help us keep this treasured destination open. Any donation will help.
