Hello we are Jo & Chris we are in desperate need to continue Billy’s treatment for cancer it turned from a 2hr op to over 8 hours of surgery, nipples removed & drainage in place until Tuesday with medications three times a day. She still requires another operation in order to remove the cancer within the coming weeks. It was a bigger operation than planned as removing the tumour left a very big void & because of her breed (lean) there wasn’t enough skin to have the other operation she needed a week or so later it had to be mo done in one due to lack of skin to cover the void & will still have to perform a smaller surgery to remove the rest of the cancer. Billy is a Doberman and was in very good health and a beautiful example of this breed and has never had any ongoing health problems until now it’s heartbreaking to see her become unwell it’s just not her! The tumour suddenly appeared around her lower nipple the vet initially thought it was a reaction to a bite as the lump suddenly appeared & got larger within a couple of days. However a longer course of antibiotics did nothing and it had grown bigger I. A few weeks later upon return to the vet they decided it was a large tumour and would need an urgent MRI scan to see if surgery could be done to remove it. Thankfully Billy was in good condition to be able to successfully cope with the tumour being removed along with all her nipples - major operation that was totally unexpected as she didn’t show any signs of having cancer prior to the tumour flaring up a few weeks ago & being such a hardy breed she has got a very high pain threshold….. she didn’t even whine when they took 3 large biopsies from her and she allowed them to MRI scan her without having a muzzle or sedation. Although she’s had the internal operation costs have unexpectedly doubled and we are struggling to find the cash to pay for another operation and further treatment she’s come this far we can’t fail her now - any donation would mean the world to us and Billy. Billy is a spiritualist and believes in the power of healing so if you can include her in your healing thoughts that would be really kind because that will aid her recovery journey ❤️ she is a dog in a million and is as daft as a brush & absolutely a pleasure to have in our lives & the thought of losing her is developing but further treatment is very favourable so we thought this could help Billy to heal and have a chance of a full life once again. Billy is a very special to me as she has pulled me through some very tough times with her undying love and her antics & has bought great happiness to everyone that meets her & has plenty of life left to live given the chance of this treatment
much love & light to all ❤️❤️❤️ Jo, Chris & Billy the Dobie Dog
