Billy Sayre's Fight for Health and Recovery

We are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend, Billy Sayre, a cherished member of our community who proudly served the United States Navy. Billy, who has spent the last 15 years as a skilled mechanic in the South Bay area, is known for his love of boats, fun loving demeanor, and his unwavering kindness. Sadly, Billy is facing an uphill battle due to an extensive fight to regain his health.

In late 2022, Billy was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and immediately began treatment as part of a clinical trial. Unfortunately, the treatment led to severe side effects, requiring additional medical interventions. During extensive scans (leading up to surgery to remove the cancer) the doctors discovered an aortic aneurysm, complicating his condition much further. Billy suffered a heart attack, which significantly delayed his recovery and prevented him from returning to work. Financially, Billy’s situation is dire. His disability payments have been halved, and now fail to cover even his basic living expenses, including rent. His angel of a landlord, has allowed rent delays for five months. However, the time has come for Billy to settle his dues while also preparing for two crucial surgeries scheduled for this year. Amid these challenges, he lost his health insurance due to the inability to keep up with payments. Without this insurance Billy has been unable to see a heart specialist which he needs to ASAP in order to deal with this life threatening heart condition.

Billy’s goal is to reimburse his previous insurance to regain coverage and ensure he can continue his treatment without compromise so he can heal and go back to work. The financial burden of medical expenses, coupled with his inability to work, has led to a mounting debt that Billy alone cannot overcome.

We are calling on the generosity of friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers to help Billy in this critical time. Any contribution will go directly towards helping Billy pay his rent, medical bills, and insurance dues, and ensure he receives all necessary treatments and check ups.
