Billy Pitts Surviving Family

Billy Pitts was a gifted drummer, popular personality, and friend to many. His early departure from this life left a significant footprint in the hearts of the Atlanta music community that spanned over 40 years of live performance and recording artistry.

Atlanta based bands Billy played with from 1980 until his recent passing in 2022, who packed so many of the renowned Atlanta music clubs and touring venues outside of Georgia over the decades, included Broken Heart, The Swinging Richards, The Law, Michelle Malone and Drag the River, The Georgia Satellites, and The Gasoline Brothers. Billy had also been honored to be included on some local demo work for Mick Jagger prior to the Stone’s eventual re-recording and release of the Voodoo Lounge collection.

Billy was uninsured, as are many musicians. His family is humbled and grateful for your financial contribution while being saddled with medical bills and unanticipated living expense obligations in the midst of trying to resituate under this cloak of grief for their dearly missed husband and father.
