The Billy Mitchell Drill Team (BMDT) was established at the University of Florida in 1951. As we represent UF, we are committed to integrity, service, and excellence through our pristine rifle exhibition and color guard routines. BMDT has carried almost seven decades of tradition while serving the Gainesville community under its motto: "Number 1 with PRIDE". The Billy Mitchell Drill Team proudly encompasses all aspects of the university: cadets, midshipmen, and students alike. Today, it is an integral advocate of military affairs in UF's student government groups.
In light of recent COVID-19 changes, BMDT has lost our primary source of fundraising. This year we are hoping to raise enough money to purchase uniforms and uniform items, new rifles, and to help fund our annual trip to Tulane. Though we are in an unprecedented time, the Billy Mitchell Drill Team strives to maintain our traditions and uphold our standards of excellence and pride.
