On Saturday, June 8th, Bill Kitchens was in a tragic accident while repairing a leak on his roof at his home in Knoxville, TN. He fell approximately 40 feet, causing him to suffer multiple broken ribs and a severe lung injury. Additionally, he broke his clavicle bone in 3 places and fractured multiple vertebrae in his back and spine. As a result from his spinal injuries, he is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Bill was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where the amazing team of doctors, nurses, and staff in the ER, Trauma Surgical Unit, and general floor were able to save his life while preventing further injury, as well as keep him and his family as comfortable as possible. He has now been moved to Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville, where he is currently receiving further medical treatment and starting down the long road of recovery.

As a result of this tragic accident, Bill and his family are now facing the emotional toll of the situation, as well as the financial burden that is soon to come. Along with the medical bills, Bill had just recently opened a new business in the Knoxville area providing orthotic and prosthetic services for animals called My Pet's Brace.

Anyone who knows Bill can attest that he is an amazing man who loves his family and friends, along with the people and animals that he has provided care for over the years through orthotics. With this GoFundMe, we are asking for your support through prayers first and foremost. Without God and the amazing medical team at UT Medical Center, there is no telling what the outcome of this situation would have been. We are also asking for donations of any size that will help Bill and his family overcome the costs of the rising medical bills and of his newly formed business while he is unable to operate it.

Bill and his family would also like to thank every single person who has taken time to reach out, pray, donate, or even share this on social media. While this is a miserable and unfortunate time in their lives, the support of so many friends, family, and community mean more to them than can be expressed through words.
