Bill Sullivan Medical Expense Fund

As some of you may know, Bill has been in the hospital for the past few weeks after it was discovered he had a bacteria infection that was attacking his heart.  After being in the hospital for a week it was determined that he needed to have open heart surgery to replace one of his valves. The hope was that soon after the surgery he'd be well enough to go home for his recovery. Unfortunately, after surgery the doctors found that the bacteria infection had gotten worse and in order to fight it, Bill would have to remain in the hospital until after Christmas. As if that wasn't bad enough the VA Hospital, where Bill is being treated is in Puerto Rico so Eileen has had to stay in a hotel to be near Bill and care for him. The cost for her to do this for almost 40 days is astronomical! In addition to her daily hotel and food costs, she has to pay a taxi $40 round trip to get to and from the hospital. The cost for her to be by Bill's side will run close to $8,000. Then when he is released, Eileen will need to be Bill's primary caretaker until he is back on his feet. His recovery could take anywhere from 2-3 months, or more, and during this time neither of them will be able to work, adding even more to their tremendous financial burden. As most of you know, Bill and Eileen are the kind of people who will do anything for anyone - and never ask for anything in return. I can think of many times that they have dropped everything to be there for me and my family and I've heard countless stories of them doing the same for others.  Here is our opportunity to pay it forward and be there to help them!
