Bill's Heart and Knee Battle: Your Help Needed
My husband and I are experiencing serious difficulty covering our medical bills and rent. I am a multiple transplant recipient (kidney and pancreas), and I am legally blind and suffer from type II diabetes. I was originally type I, which was caused by my being prescribed the immunosuppressant drug tacrolimus to protect my transplanted kidney from rejection. Given my constellation of issues, I am simply unable to work.
My husband, Bill, is an incredibly talented contractor with skills in all manner of home improvement. He has maintained a busy schedule for decades, and has amazing stamina, but suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and COPD, the latter caused by his years working as a welder. In 2023, he began experiencing increased shortness of breath and weakness, and was diagnosed with diastolic heart failure. Recently, his degree of knee pain has become insurmountable, and he now requires a full replacement surgery on both sides.
While I am insured, many of my prescriptions are either not covered, or incur an expensive copay. Bill was previously uninsured, but now has insurance. However, its not the best coverage so, you can imagine the bills associated with his heart and surgery diagnosis and knee problems - imaging, labs, and other associated tests, as well as expensive prescriptions he requires. And now his Rhemotoligst is no longer covered under his current plan, which mean each visit is out of pocket.
With his impending surgery and potentially lengthy recovery on the horizon, we are asking for help. ANY amount you might be able to contribute will be of immeasurable help and incredibly appreciated.
