Fearless Warrior Scholarship in Memory of Bill Towey
Fearless Warrior Scholarship program created this year will be in memorial honor of Bill Towey, Class of 1994. We hope to create a legacy of funding of annual financial scholarships for graduating Wantagh High School Seniors. Scholarship recipients would be embodied the person that goes beyond the norm, with high regard to integrity, generosity and kindness, like person Bill was. We hope this program will continue to provide a positive influence and promote ethics among young people in the next generations.
We are kicking off fundraising efforts at a celebration with Cake and Karaoke for Bill's sister Mary Monahan at the Bayview Tavern on Friday, November 30, 2018 8:00 pm – 12:00 pm

Thank you for sharing your memories, support and love. Your kindness is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered. There are really no words to express our heartfelt thanks for the sympathy you have extended. Your generation donation made in Bill’s honor has eased burdens at this challenging time.
We are certain Bill would have really loved everything every person has provided especially the photographs and the extraordinary stories shared with us. His love for his family, the knowledge he shared about fishing, great outdoors or graphics, time he spent with awesome friends, taking care of people without expecting anything in return, resonated with each nostalgic storyline.
May those cherished memories bring you comfort and lasting peace. We are all the pieces of what we remember… knowing as long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss.

It is with a heavy heart that we post this update.
Today we begin the journey without Bill.
Last night, Bill passed away after a fearless battle with cancer.

Update 2/27/2018
As we begin the month of March, which is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, we want to briefly update you on Bill’s current situation. Bill has had a setback with his treatment. The recent scans reported small growths returning in lymph nodes in his neck and back and new growths on his liver and his abdominal lining. The next step is new drug combination chemotherapy to hopefully control and slow the growth of these new areas. New types of treatments in addition to chemotherapy will be discussed and explored with success of this new chemotherapy routine.
UPDATE 11/8/2016
Today, we were informed that Bill’s journey will be more challenging. It has been discovered that his cancer is Stage 4, having metastasized to other areas of his body. He will begin Chemotherapy shortly.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We look to provide positive healing during this time.

On Sept 7, 2016, my younger brother Bill turned 40 years old. Just a few weeks later, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. This was a completely unexpected diagnoses. As he prepares to face surgery, chemo and the other challenges asked of cancer patients, we are asking to help fund medical expenses and general living expenses.
Bill Towey is my brother. A 1994 graduate of Wantagh High School, a husband, father and overall a kind and great person to encounter. For those who know him, he's very generous with his time and abilities. He is married to Jenn and has two wonderful teen children who adore him. Jenn and Bill have worked so hard to achieve their dreams of owning a home and providing a great life for their family in Massapequa.
This unexpected turn of events has them facing mounting medical expenses with loss of income due to treatment.
The money will be used to pay for treatment, medical bills and general living expenses.
We are looking for angels to help fund medical expenses and living expenses as he courageously fights the battle against cancer over the next year.
