Bill's Fight Against Aggressive Lymphoma

Donation protected
The kindest couple we know are going through unkind times.

On April 29th, Bill was diagnosed with aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma — a fast-growing cancer that has required immediate chemotherapy. While this form of lymphoma often responds well to treatment — and in some cases is even curable — the road ahead is intense, uncertain, and expensive.

Bill began chemotherapy on May 2nd and will remain in the hospital until May 6th. He'll continue treatments every 21 days for the next 4–5 months, during which time he won’t be able to work.

Jessica is doing everything she can to hold things together for them in Seattle, but they are far from their support system. With friends and family scattered across the country, we're asking for help to lighten the load — from medical expenses to everyday living costs.

Let’s show them they're not alone.

A note from Bill's wife, Jessica:

For those who truly know Bill, it won’t come as a surprise that—through all of this—he still finds a way to laugh, to be present, and to lead with his generous, loving spirit. I watch how kind he is to everyone who is taking care of him and how intentional he is with all his interactions. Bill has an incredible gift: the ability to truly be with people—actively listening, actively loving.
We need more Bill Dunns in this world. And right now, we need to keep this one-of-a-kind Bill right here with us.

This experience has been overwhelming—but even more overwhelming has been the outpouring of love from our family and friends. We feel your prayers. We feel your love. Please keep it coming—we truly rely on it.

The generosity we’ve received has been humbling. Thank you for your relentless support.
Bill is so deeply loved, and we are surrounded by many outstretched hands.

If you're looking for ways to support us, here are a few that mean the world right now:

  • Prayers
  • Cards & Letters
  • Financial Support via this GoFundMe page, set up to help cover Bill’s lost wages, medical expenses, dog care, and added costs like hospital parking and transportation.

It is both unfortunate and fortunate that we have friends who have walked the path of cancer, who only leaned in closer when we shared the news. Through all hours of the night and all phases of this journey, they’ve been holding our hands.  They’ve been willing to reflect on what they endured to offer us wisdom, comfort, and guidance. I’m deeply indebted to this selfless, fearless love.

I will leave you with this article from our friend Trinity. In true fashion, I stumbled upon it not knowing she had written it, but thought it might share a window into how we can not only care for Bill, but our loved ones in times of need.
