Bills dads PTLD has returned
Donation protected
Hi all,
First to those who have helped us out over the last few years I just want to thank you so much for all your love and support, because of you my dad was able to walk me down the aisle and was able to meet his grandson. So thank you again from the bottom of my heart !
So as most of you know dad had a transplant back in 2014, then in 2016 he started to go down hill and was diagnosed with PTLD ( post transplant lymphoprolerafitive disease) PTLD is caused by the anti rejection medications he has to take after the transplant. At the end of 2017 beginning of 2018, his saliva gland on his right side became engulfed in a cancerous tumor. He had surgery to remove it and two full chains of lymph nodes, everything went well with that surgery and amazingly enough none of his facial nerves were damaged. He healed well from it and was back doing photos again.
He began having problems with his hearing a few months ago and went in last month to get it checked and they saw two lymph nodes that looked wrong. They biopsied them and discovered the PTLD has come back, and it's much stronger this go around. We are looking at 6 months of strong chemotherapy, and this chemo has the possibility of making him ill for 2 weeks every month until the chemo is done. On top of finding this out he also has a soft tissue mass in the back of his throat that is causing the problems with his hearing and also causing him to be unable to swallow without pain. He has had to have tubes put in his ears to help with the pressure.
I truly believe that everyone's love and support for him is what helped him kick cancer back last time . With all of this happening we could really use the love and assistance if you are able to help. I want to thank you again for everyone's support during this hard time
Thank you
