I am a 26-year-old trans man currently in the final stages of booking thoracic masculinisation, AKA top surgery. This procedure would massively improve my quality of life and allow me to finally feel comfortable in my own skin.
Over the last few years, my partner and I have collectively saved about £3000, which leaves me with £4874 left to raise. I will be putting aside as much as I can until then (and potentially working an extra job over the summer to supplement this), but I can’t afford to save much and won’t be able to access financial support from my family. As a result, I am turning to my community for help.
The surgeon quoted €6450/£5630 for the surgery, hospital stay, anaesthetist, medication, and follow-up visits– not including the post-op binder, which will cost around €115/£100. I will need additional funds for travel, food, accommodation, and to cover lost income for my partner as she will be taking unpaid leave to look after me. I will be getting the surgery in March 2027, meaning I have just under eleven months to get hold of the money; otherwise I’ll be forced to either delay the surgery, or go into debt paying it back later.
The rough cost breakdown (according to current Euro exchange rates) is as follows:
Surgery and hospital stay: £5630
Post-op binder: £100
Accommodation and travel: £1580
Other expenses and lost income: £564
Total: £7874
Total to raise: £4874
Please donate if you can, and if not then please share this widely. Even a fiver or a tenner will make a difference. Thank you so much!
