My name is Dr. Mary Hemphill, and I am establishing this GoFundMe for my friend Billie Bayles, in order to raise funds to buy an Orcam optical device to help her see to read and recognize faces. Her positive attitude is incredibly inspiring. Here is her story in her own words:"October 24 2016Ischemic Optic Neuropathy was diagnosed in my right eye. Two months to the day later, on December 24, the disease was diagnosed in my left eye, leaving me legally blind. How ironic, considering I have spent my entire career in optical sales helping people to see.In an instant I was forced to give up my independence, no longer able to drive, read or go to work. This disease has no prevention, no treatment and no cure.
