Bill Tilly's Recovery

Donation protected
If any one word could sum up Bill Tilly, it would be “generous”. Bill, a long-time member of the Birmingham and Montgomery Bicycle Clubs, is known for his great heart and generous spirit. Now, our friend and cycling partner, Bill, needs our help and we are not going to let Bill down. He has suffered a stroke and it has knocked him off his bike, but in true Bill fashion, he’s getting back up and working hard to get stronger.

We can help with our generous donations to this GoFundMe. There are always unseen additional expenses when someone is sick and spending time in a hospital and rehabilitation facility. The Birmingham and Montgomery Bicycle Clubs would like to help with those expenses by raising money to help the Tilly Family as they work together to support Bill.

Please take a moment and think about all the kind words and deeds Bill did for us over the years. Many of us have a story about the time Bill did or said just the right thing to make us feel special and appreciated. We have all seen him work for hours at bicycle events while always being cheerful and funny and brushing off any thank you. Please donate to this GoFundMe or send giftcards directly (explained below) and let Bill and his family know how much we love him and wish to see him back on his bike.

The following are possible contribution options for you to choose to help Bill and his family:

Contribute directly through this GoFundMe page which will allow Bill and his family to choose how they use the contributions.

Or if you are more inclined to purchase Gift Cards online and send them to Bill via his daughter, Lauren King's email, please email Lloyd Maisonville through the BBC website to get her email. Go Fund Me won't include emails in this information for security reasons.

Thank you for your generous spirit,
Birmingham and Montgomery Bicycle Clubs Board Members

PS for you wondering how Bill has been doing, Bill’s daughter, Lauren, shared this about his life in Colorado:

Bill and his wife Linda moved to CO in July 2021 into a 55+ community in Broomfield, a suburb in between Denver and Boulder and only 10 minutes from his daughter, Lauren, son-in-law, Adam, and two grandsons (Will is 5 and Sawyer is almost 3). He has made friends with many people in the community and enjoys a variety of activities such as hiking, pickleball, snowshoeing, beer drinking and playing canasta. He has also been very into cycling, some road cycling but mostly gravel biking on the many trails around Broomfield and Boulder. He loves spending time with the grandkids, swimming in the community pool with Will, playing trains with Sawyer, and playing in their basement with lots of toys! He and Linda have enjoyed getting to know what Denver has to offer and have especially enjoyed going to concerts and other special events. Back in May, Bill and Lauren also got to see one of their long-time favorite bands, Sister Hazel, performing in Estes Park, which was their 12th Sister Hazel concert together and so much fun!

Let’s do what we can to help him get back on his bike and back to enjoying time with his family. Thank you!
