Honoring the life of our Dad, Bill Tillman

Thank you for reading this — it’s not an easy request for us to make, on so many levels, but we want so much to be able to honor our father, Bill Tillman.

As you may already know, our dad suffered a heart attack and COPD exacerbation this summer and was admitted to the hospital and then spent a short time in rehab.

In rehab, he worked incredibly hard with occupational and physical therapy to recover. When he went home, he continued working hard, making improvements and feeling good about his recovery. As his children, we gladly found the money to pay for daily caregivers to help him get stronger, regain his independence, and continue to be an active member of his community. However, to our sadness, he suffered two setbacks from which he never truly recovered. He passed away on August 21, 2022, two days after his 86th birthday.

Our father was committed to mentoring men on their journeys to be better fathers, husbands, and individuals. He was an active member of MDI/Atlas. He loved his children fiercely and never missed a chance to communicate that love to each of us. The loss of his earthly presence is palpable to all that knew him, and to say that he will be missed is an understatement.

The cost of the caregivers was very expensive and has exhausted our resources. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community members to help us raise $7500 to help cover the cost of his cremation and final expenses.
