Bill Thomas: Celebration of a Wonderful Life

People are asking how to help us in this difficult time.  We don’t know but we do know that we have two needs — help with care and funeral costs as well as future education costs for Bill’s favorite person, his son, Ian. Bill was an amazing, loving, devoted and supportive husband to Teresa Sokol Thomas and father to his son, Ian Michael Thomas. He worked hard to make everything in their lives easier and it was their honor, in Bill’s final days, to make living and loving as easy as possible for him. No future is guaranteed but they lived and loved together as long as they could. Bill’s motto, when he married Teresa, was that every day would be an adventure. We’re pretty sure he didn’t mean that adventure to be cancer, but we loved each other throughout. Even while fighting cancer, Bill offered Ian advice on growing into adulthood and offered Teresa tips for parenting their wonderful, headstrong son. Bill was always supportive of Ian’s interests and often jumped in to learn more about his passions and to share them together. The family will use donations to offset the expenses of Bill’s final journey and to help Ian, his son, finish his senior year at Hofstra University.
