To Honor and Memorialize Bill Sensenbrenner's Life
Donation protected
We are friends and neighbors of Frank Dain who have put together this fund-raising effort to support Frank in honoring and memorializing his husband and life partner of 33 years, Bill Sensenbrenner who succumbed to Covid-19 on February 11.
It is impossible to sufficiently summarize the warm and generous character of Bill but anyone who knew him knew that he was a joyous and uplifting force for all who he came in contact with. Bill was social, loving, and generous to a degree that is hard to imagine unless you knew him. He was always lending a hand or an ear, always following up and following through, always inviting, and exploring, and including, and contributing to society in any way that he could.
He truly loved people and it was evidenced in a myriad of ways but particularly in his listening. The way he listened made you feel that what you were contributing was of the utmost importance.
In his love of life, he drew others in to also experience the light that he saw in the world. During the isolation of Covid, Bill brought people together, safely, outside, to salute the week at sunset. He invited friends and neighbors for park walks or meals at outdoor cafes. Neighbors who lived alone and were unable to get out enjoyed his company from across the threshold of their door, and his generosity through simple acts of kindness (fetching mail, packages, and groceries). And he whisked Frank away to local getaways for a respite from the concrete garden.
Bill knew how to live and he enjoyed life to its fullest.
We lost joyful, enthusiastic, generous Bill to Covid on 2/11/21—it took his breath away in under 3 weeks...and with it, the wind out of Frank's sails.
We are hoping to ease some burdens for Frank in his time of mourning and loss by raising enough funds to cover the costs of Bill's hospitalization, his funeral, and a memorial. Funds remaining after medical/funeral costs are met would go to forever ensuring that Bill has a seat front and center to the art, song, and performance that inspired him throughout his life at the Lincoln Center Theater
“Lincoln center theater seat” for the memorial. The American Songbook Association, City Center Theater, and the cabaret and theatrical arts all benefited from Bill's steadfast devotion to performance, performers, and the communities they brought to life.
We hope you'll consider supporting Frank, a genuinely kind, creative, and gentle soul, during this heartbreaking time.
