Bill Mallonee is a beloved singer-songwriter
This campaign is a grassroots effort launched by two fans: Matt Staniz in Pennsylvania and John Brashier in Missisippi. We have never met in person, but we share a love for Bill Mallonee and the treasure trove of music that he has written and shared with the world over the past 25+ years with Vigilantes of Love and as a singer-songwriter who exemplifies the best of Americana music. We are both also glad to call Bill our friend.
Bill is in an emergency situation and needs surgery immediately
Bill has been navigating some serious health concerns in recent months, even as he has joyfully moved forward with recording his next album (his first double album). He has reached a point where he needs a surgery that is not available anywhere in his home state of New Mexico. Through trusted connections, he has found an excellent surgeon in Arizona who will perform the surgery in late October.
Because this surgery will be performed out-of-state, Bill is facing significant expenses that will not be covered by insurance. The procedure, followed by a few days in the hospital (and 4-6 weeks of recovery at home) will set him back by at least $44,000.
When we learned about Bill's situation, we immediately offered to launch this campaign knowing that there are countless people that will chip in to help him during this time of need. All money raised will go to Bill to cover medical expenses. Bill is grateful and glad to keep folks abreast on the outcome.
