On October 1st 2019 at 9am, Bill and Debbie Hester were crossing the street near the corner of Palm St. and Arnold Ave. Bill was going to a dentist appointment. Bill noticed a truck speeding towards them. Bill told his wife Debbie to hurry because he noticed the truck was coming fast and picking up speed. They were at the at the curb when Bill knew that they both were not going to make it. Bill used both hands and pushed his wife to safety. The man driving the 2006 silver Toyota Tacoma fatally struck Bill then left the site of the accident, he was later arrested and is awaiting sentencing.

Bill was 73 years old, 100% disabled US Army Military veteran. Bill and Debbie Hester were married 27 years, Debbie had suffered a stroke and Bill has taken care of her. She is devastated, lost, and unable to work. She is struggling to make sense of all that has happened.
