Hi My name is Donna , it’s not easy to come to the decision to ask for help. For several years now I have been struggling financially and medically. I am taking medication to help prevent my breast cancer from returning. I was diagnosed in 2016 with breast cancer and have been fighting to stay well. I live in an apartment that has drained me financially and mentally. During the winter my heater wasn’t working properly so I literally froze inside but my electric bill went up to 800.00. They would not help me at all. I make enough to cover my rent. Unfortunately rent has gone up so much in Austin that I have to pay rent and not buy groceries. This last few years has taken its toll on me physically and mentally and it’s hard sometimes to get up in the morning without worrying what will happen today . I do have to say I am blessed and I do have kids that have helped me and a couple of friends that have been lifesavers for me or I would probably be homeless. I’m reaching out hoping for help as I’m to the point that I’ve been getting sick more and more lately and a lot of it is stress. I can’t pay my utilities, I can’t pay my doctors anymore, I can’t even get to a dentist to fix my my teeth that need work so bad. I want to say I’m grateful for any help at all even the fact that you are reading this and maybe can understand a little of what I’m going through means so much to me. I have struggled with my decision to post this but I believe anyone that knows me knows I am a good caring person that just needs a little help. Thank you all for reading.
