My name is Bill Hardison. I am 61 years old and live in the mountains of central California.
I had a stroke a few years ago, rendering me unable to walk without aid.
In an instant, my whole life changed
The stroke was in my cerebellum, which affected my fine motor skills. The result was diminished abilities on my right side.
I have always been an active person, having been a fishing, hunting and outdoor guide in the Sierras, and the business I had before the stroke involved outdoor handyman and construction type work. If I could walk again, I could support myself once again, even if others had to do the majority of the actual physical work.
I am trying to raise money for a stem cell transplant in Mexico, which has had great success for many people in my situation.
Every day I spend hours doing physical therapy to keep my muscles in good shape, and I am very close to walking on my own, but still have to use a walker to do so, and it is very slow going.
My girlfriend Clndy has been my motivation. Without her I believe I'd have given up. She stated " I'm in this for the long haul.”
I am confident that this procedure is the edge I need to acheive my goal of walking and being self reliant again, but cannot do this without some financial help from people like you and the other giving people who make contributions on go fund me.
