Bill Gleason and Family
Donation protected
On March 19th our dear friend and neighbor Bill suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke. He was rushed to Stanford for emergency surgery. Bill survived surgery but came out with some major deficits; he is completely paralyzed on his left side and was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. Because strokes are so unpredictable, the extent of his injuries is still not completely known, although we are remaining hopeful.
We are creating this GoFundMe in an effort to offset some of the cost of the medical bills, SNF daily costs, medications, and ongoing therapies for Bill. The financial assistance from this GoFundMe will allow Billy’s wife Maryann, and their two daughters, Julia and Kristen to have a little bit less stress on their shoulders and focus their attention towards helping their dad overcome this.
On March 25th, he began speech, physical, and occupational therapy. He has had a great medical team helping him progress but still faces a long, uphill battle.
This is any family’s absolute nightmare, but to make matters worse, California’s Shelter-in-Place has made it exceptionally hard for the family to visit him; they haven’t had the chance to hold his hand as all visits have been done through a window.
Thank you all for taking the time to donate if you can and for your support for the family.
