Help Bill Eck learn how to land on the water!

As you know, earlier this year, our friend and fellow pilot, Bill Eck, lost the aircraft he spent 20 years building. After losing power, he was forced to ditch his aircraft in the water, and, unfortunately, he did not walk away and the airplane was not usable again. He was rescued from several circling sharks by some local fishermen, whisked to Miami aboard TraumaStar and left the cleanup to us. Due to the immense efforts of many locals, a mere 8 hours after the crash, the remains of the aircraft were back at Summerland awaiting inspection by the FAA. While we were recovering the aircraft, we mused it would be great if, when this was all said and done, and we could look back on it and laugh, we were to get Bill a seaplane rating course at Jack Brown's Seaplanes. Bill has bounced back quickly, and, with Thanksgiving coming up, I think now would be the right time to demonstrate our thankfulness that he and his ornery sense of humor is still with us! The course will cost about $3,000, and, having done their course a couple of years ago, I think it is worth every penny. I intend to give him the "gift card" for his course the Friday after Thanksgiving at the RedEck Lounge.
