Bill Dendiu

My name is Janis Gillham Grady and I am starting up a fundraising campaign to help my long-time friend Bill Dendiu. I have known Bill for over 42 years. He is from Ohio just like my husband used to be and they were both big Ohio State fans together, so often talked on the phone during Buckeye games. Shortly after Bill left Scientology and the Sea Org, Bill moved to Las Vegas, to live closer to Paul and me and our kids. Then about 13 years ago, he had a stroke and lost the ability to walk. With no one to care for him, he moved to California where his ex-wife took on the job and ensured his children got to visit him as they grew up. Bill relearned how to walk again, but ended up having another stroke and has since been bedridden. His only source of steady support besides Paul and I and a few other friends, helping out when needed, is his ex-wife and children. His ex-wife works two jobs, as does his 17-year-old daughter while also going to school to help cover expenses which included having Bill moved to a private facility, where he can get the proper care he needs. State care did not work out for Bill as he was being physically abused and where one of his caregivers stole from him making financial matters worse for him and his family. While Bill had helped form a company to set aside for his future, this also didn't work out with him being cut out when he first had his stroke and was no longer able to work and raise funds for them. I know Bill has many friends out there and also many people that did not like him - he was not always pleasant, but this is not a time to hold onto the past but look forward and support someone in need and who can not fend for himself which is draining on the ex-wife who has generously opened her heart and purse to support the father of her children. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated by the family and Bill.
