My name is William Bennett and my parents names are Theresa and Bill Bennett.
We need help. I have never been the one to ask for help, but this is my family and I would do anything to help my dad not be in pain anymore.
My dad has struggled with health problems for over 30 years now.
When he was 34 he had to have a double hip replacement. He suffered with pain 24/7. He was and is still a strong man but he can only take so much.
Last year he started having problems with his kidneys. His kidneys only work at 44 percent. He also has sleep apnea, high blood pressure and diabetes. He has suffered with peripheral neuropathy for the last 30 years.
January 2020, they diagnosed him with Peripheral arterial disease in both legs. Since then he has had a total of 8 angiograms on both legs. Last June he had to have a bypass on the main artery on his heart. In October he had to have a bypass on the arteries on his left leg and the big toe amputated.
Lets just say, he cannot catch a break!
After 30 years of health complications and my parents have never asked for anything until now. I will tell you why we need it now more than ever.
At this time he is suffering from a pressure ulcer on the side of his left leg and a spot on his right heel. The ulcers are from October when he spent 10 days in the hospital. He has developed Mercer and another infection in his heel. He is going to the hospital 3/8/2021 to have a pic-line placed so that he can receive antibiotics twice a day for 6 weeks.
The antibiotics that he needs are going to cost my parents $700 a week for 6 weeks!!
Without those antibiotics my dad will lose his foot and most likely his legs. I cannot let that happen.
As we all know, this has all been happening during the Pandemic and needless to say it has been so hard for them.
Any help at all would be forever appreciated. Thank you.
