Bill “Badluck” Hudgins Recovery Fund

Bill “Badluck” Hudgins of Enfield (Enfield Academy ‘86) is experiencing a second bout of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/guillain-barre-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20362793. A debilitating condition, GBS has left Bill paralyzed from neck down. Unable to fully breathe on his own, he is confined to care at PAM Health Speciality Hospital in Rocky Mount approaching the 4 month mark. Recovery from GBS can take several months. During his recovery, Bill can use all the love and support his friends and his friends’ friends can provide. During a visit yesterday I saw determination in Bill’s eyes to beat this -the same determination to win I saw in his eyes when we were in a huddle on the football field in high school and Badluck was calling a play. Bill right now can’t be the quarterback or hit the game winning shot right now. His teammate, all of us, need to have a big play moment and help him win this one. Funds generated will help family offset income lost while is unable to work and faces mounting medical bills.
