Biking to help disabled kids.

Hello friends! My name is Reed Roffis and I am bicycling the Pan-American Highway, the longest road in the world, 20,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina! While this started as a personal expedition I have decided that it would be a shame not to use it to do some good.

I want to quickly talk a little bit about my friend Taz who is a great inspiration to me. Taz is a talented scholar and one of the brightest people I know. She was pursuing a PHD in engineering at Brown University when she was struck with some serious health problems and forced to drop out. While this has been devastating to her in many ways she has not wasted any time feeling sorry for herself and instead has gotten to work proving that her brilliant mind is only surpassed by her caring heart. She has spent the last several years working for the Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education, an institution that assists disabled children in learning essential skills like walking and communicating. Unfortunately this important is work is very poorly funded and this has meant that Taz has had to spend valuable time that could be spent rehabilitating patients, on writing grant proposals to secure the bare minimum of funding to keep the lights on.

I would like to use my trip to not only bring awareness to the important work that is being done at CFCE, but also lessen the financial burden that they face. That is why I am setting up this Go Fund Me with the goal of raising 20,000 dollars, roughly one dollar for every mile I will bike, with all the proceeds going to the Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education.
