Hello,

I am Max and normally work as a researcher in robotics in Munich. However, for the next 12 days, I will challenge myself with one of the biggest adventures I've done so far. I plan to bike approximately 1400km from Salzburg to Thessaloniki. I love biking and always wanted to take my bike adventures to the next level. Now the time has come! The route I have planned will take me through six different countries, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Greece.

Although I love to have personal adventures, I always search for opportunities to make a positive impact through them. Therefore, I want to take the opportunity of my trip to collect donations for a cause that I am deeply invested in, education. I have connected with a German-based organization, ConCulture, to help make this true, but I am also reaching out for your support!

The vision of ConCultures is to enable education for children worldwide. In collaboration with the United World Schools (UWS), they bring education to remote and underprivileged regions around the world. The idea of ConCultures and UWS is to build up educational systems in areas where there is no access to school. Further, they work with local authorities to officially integrate the schools into the local education system after a period of 5-7 years. So far, 90% of the students from UWS schools graduate successfully and 80% of them go on to secondary school.

Their current project is a school called Bulma in Gulmi, Nepal. The region has 700 inhabitants with 75% of the population lacking formal education. At the moment Bulma educates 140 children, girls and boys equally, from 3-10 years (kindergarten and elementary school). The cost for one child to attend the school for one year is 85 Euros.

I'd like to support this project and take you with me on the trip to help finance as many students as possible. Therefore, I want to collect donations to cover the costs of running the school for one year, which means 12,000 Euros! I know, this sounds like a lot of money, but if everyone donates what they are able to, we can achieve it together!

I believe education is a crucial component of independent life, of positive changes, and thus, a better world. There are so many problems that can be solved in the long term by providing education to as many people as possible.
