Biking for Blake - Minus Canal Wipeouts this time
Donation protected
2 years ago, my fab friend and former colleague Andy and I attempted to ride the 254 mile round trip of the Leeds to Liverpool (there and back) in 4 “daily legs”…
…to raise money for specialist care and equipment that my great friends’ Chris and Kelly’s dear son Blake now requires, since suffering multiple strokes just before his 1st bday.
Unfortunately (and this has gone down as the stuff of legend that “only yours truly could do” ♂️), I hit a mooring post with about 100 miles to go (near Wigan) and spectacularly wiped out headfirst into the canal along with my bike!
Andy’s old bike also suffered a terminal mechanical issue at pretty much the same time, so we made a promise then to one day “return to the (Can)Alamo scene of the wiping out crime”, to polish off the remaining 100 or so miles in 2 days.
Pleased to confirm that after some horrible weather on leg 1 and some rough terrain on both legs, that Andy and I successfully completed the last 100 or so miles on Monday 23/09 and Tuesday 24/09/2024, for such a great cause!
If any kind souls out there would like to chip in towards our “long awaited completion” of this fundraising bike ride, I know that Chris and Kelly plus Blake’s awesome big sister Vienna would be super grateful (as ofc will Andy and I ) ❤️
Thanks in advance therefore to anyone who contributes to this “part 2 fundraiser”, much love world xx
