My name is Katt and I have been a close friend of Los Vivaldo since we were next door neighbors and our families shared the common love of bike riding together over the years. We have also had the joy of watching his son Benjamin grow up into an intelligent, kind and respectful young man. It's painful understanding that there may be extended periods of separation for Los and his son.
Los has been selfless when it comes to the bicycling community. Always showing up, every Wednesday, hot or cold, to lead a group ride for all. Always willing to fix a flat, put a chain back, anything to help keep a cyclist pedaling.
Los has also been selfless when it comes to the downtown community. Always showing up to fix a gate, paint a bedroom, help move some furniture, anything to help.
I'm so sorry to share that Los has been detained and the situation is serious. He will need funds for legal aid and to start a new chapter. I am asking the bike community, the art community, and the downtown neighborhood communities to consider a contribution towards helping him through this phase. I know the holidays are tough, but this person has most likely had your back at some point when you needed something. No amount is too small, or too large. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
