Bijan Robinson NFLPA Week 5: Change Church

Bijan Robinson has been selected as the NFL Players Association’s Week 3 Community MVP.

On September 23, the Atlanta Falcons running back welcomed more than 7,700 local kids to Mercedes Benz Stadium for an impactful day, which featured Robinson reading a book entitled "Be You" to the crowd; passing out care packages with a "BijanReads" shirt, lunch snacks, reading materials and pajamas; and connecting with the attendees alongside several of his Falcons teammates.

After learning that 70% of third- and fourth-grade students in Atlanta Public Schools are reading below grade level, Robinson was inspired to not only host this large-scale event but also launch the “BijanReads” Campaign. This initiative aims to increase literacy rates by creating unique experiences, providing engaging content and distributing critical resources to students, parents and caregivers across Atlanta.

This includes launching 54 “BijanReads” Reading Corners to serve as dedicated reading spaces across Atlanta elementary schools; "Bedtime Stories With Bijan" where he takes time out of his busy schedule to record himself reading his favorite children's books for all to access; and "Book Club With Bijan" for fellow book lovers to read along and participate in book discussions with the standout athlete.

"When I learned how many students were struggling with these skills, I knew I had to use my platform to encourage change," said Robinson, who also earned NFLPA Community MVP honors as a rookie in 2023. "Through BijanReads, we're aiming to make literacy fun and accessible for every child."
