Our Story:
When we first started floating around the idea of entering a team into The Basketball Tournament (TBT) it wasn't gaining much traction. It was a fun idea, but where were we going to get the players? How would we get into the tournament? Where would we get the money? We had a lot of questions, but no answers.
So we called on some of our friends, and they delivered. Andrew Dakich and Duncan Robinson proposed the idea of gathering some of the BIG10's finest alumni players to create a team, and that's exactly what we did. The pitch was easy: come join our team and represent your conference for a chance to win $2 million dollars. With each guy we asked, it seemed another recommendation for another great player followed. Before we knew it, we had our full squad which consisted of two guys outside the BIG10 that we knew really could make us better. Next came gathering the needed votes, and, right off the bat, the outpouring of fan support was incredible. And why wouldn't it be?! We have BIG10 fans - the best fans in the world! We went from a little known commodity to top 5 in fan votes in our region in a matter of days. Once we were officially accepted into the field for TBT 2018 at the beginning of June, it was time to start planning for our journey to a championship...and that's where we need help one more time!
In order to equip our players for success, we need to raise enough money for the necessary logistical aspects of a tournament run. This includes needs such as housing, food, and travel for our 2 day "training camp" and the subsequent first two rounds, July 21-22, of the tournament in Columbus (the detailed schedule and expense report is below). Anything that you can donate to us goes a long way in getting us as far as we can go in this tournament. We want to play as long as possible not only for ourselves, but for all of you as well. We are greatly appreciative for you guys making this dream a reality for us. GO BIG10!!
Below is a our team roster for the TBT so you will have a better understanding of who you will be supporting throughout our journey. Again thank you to all who contribute and go BIGX!
