BigRed walks again

In 2006 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At first I was scared and thought I now had a limited time left on this earth. I researched like crazy, asked my mother if we had a history of MS in our family (we didn’t) and asked anyone I knew about their knowledge of this disease. I soon discovered that the dx (diagnosis) was not a death sentence, began taking Copaxone,  a DMT, disease modifying treatment, and did OK for 11 yrs. I play piano professionally and had an upcoming date, playing for a wedding reception. About a month before the date, I had a relapse. I was unable to walk any further than my bathroom, and very fatigued. I also didn’t care this was happening. As the date approached, I started using my Mother’s walker and soon decided I could make the date. On the gig I had lots of help setting up and thought all would be OK. As we got ready to start, I played my “theme” song, “Linus and Lucy”, the Charlie Brown music, which I had played for the last 45 yrs. I couldn’t. My rt. hand would not listen to my brain. That was in 2017 and I still can’t play it. I also can’t walk at all w/o assistance and my anti-fatigue medicine is not effective anymore. I cannot play with my grandchildren the way I used to and that REALLY makes me very unhappy. My wife recently divorced me and so now I don’t have my best friend of 39 yrs by my side. I recently learned of a new procedure which shows very promising results for those with MS and the cost has come way down from the first time I saw it. ($115,000 to $8,500) I would really like to do this. I have researched it a lot and spoken my neurologist, family and friends. If you are able, please help me. Every little bit helps. I’m on disability which is a fixed income and not much. I’m also unable to work. Thank you and God bless.
