UPDATE as of May 1, 2017......
After completing all treatments, Kevin's tests show the cancer has came back in the lymph nodes on both sides of his neck.
His PET Scan is now showing cancer in his Esophagus, left clavicle, lower back and right rib cage. A biopsy is scheduled for May 4th to determine if these new areas are most definitely cancer. If they are, surgery is not an option and he would need to begin more chemo treatments. During these treatments, PET Scans will be done every 4/6 weeks to see if the chemo is working. If this particular chemo is not working, there are two others they will then try.
Unfortunately, Kevin and his family have another long road ahead of them with many decisions to make. So again, we need to pull together and help this family as much as possible. Anything is appreciated and there is power in prayer.
Previously posted December 2016... Kevin has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This cancer has progressed throughout the lymph nodes of his neck and he is facing at least seven (7) weeks of Chemo and Radiation treatments, with the possibility of needing even more. At this point, the Doctors are starting with seven (7) weeks; five (5) days a week of Radiation and three (3) rounds of Chemo.
Kevin will not be able to work for a minimum of three (3) months, and his wife, Stephanie, will be traveling with him throughout this debilitating journey.
None of us are ever mentally or financially prepared to face anything of this magnitude! This family of six (6) needs our help! If you can help them financially, with just a kind word of encouragement, continual prayers or all of the above, each and every bit will be very much appreciated by Kevin and his family.
