Save Biggs the Cat
Hey all.
Biggs is sick. He's really really sick.
Biggs came into my life when I saw his profile on the Animal Humane Society website 2 years ago. I got there early, stood before the doors for 30 minutes before they opened, and immidately fell in love with him the second I met him. We've been insepertable ever since.
Recently he started throwing up a bit here and there. Typical cat behavior, nothing to worry about.
Then he stopped eating.
Then he stopped drinking.
Then, most alarming of all, he started wheezing and gasping for air. This started this morning (3/5).
I rushed him off to the emergancy vet (Blue Pearl in Edan Prairie) where he had blood work and xrays done. Both came back as normal, but he was still breathing weird. They wanted to keep him overnight but at $1400 I couldn't afford that. As it was, with all the tests and initial exam his bill was $757. I paid it, scooped up my sad kitty and came home.
Once home he ate and was being more social. I thought for sure the steroids and injection of saline solution to hydrate him had helped, and perhaps we were on the way to recovery. Suddenly he started violently shaking and gasping for air, mouth open and tongue out. His eyes started to water and he fell over on his side. So, back to the ER we go.
This vet bill is looking to be about $1400 on top of the $757 I already paid today. This is a lot of money to spend at once. I don't qualify for Care Credit (my first try) and I don't know how I'm going to be able to afford these bills.
At the request of others, I am starting this gofundme. I hate to ask for help because Biggs is my cat and my responsibility, but part of being a good cat parent is putting my pride aside and asking for help to help him get better. He's my baby and such a mommas boy and I need him to be okay.
I'm willing to pay anyone back that helps out if they'd like. I'm desperate.
Thanks for reading all this and considering helping out. You all are wonderful.
