My beloved Biggie is suffering from extreme constipation, otherwise known in kitty language as obstipation. After 7 days, 2 enemas, 4 rounds of subcutaneous fluids, 1 manual obstipation, daily stool softener, and multiple trips to the vet, he is still straining to poop, eating very little, and dehydrated. It looks like an extended hospital stay and possibly surgery are the next steps in his process. Without taking next steps, his condition becomes unmanageable and likely fatal.
I met Biggie at Oakland Animal Services. Went looking for a kitten and ended up with a grumpy, gentle love bug of a middle aged cat. Once a house cat, Biggie had been dumped outside, and now all 18 pounds of him was hunched in a small cage at the bottom of the row, with raw patches from his flea allergy (who knew?!). One head bump, and I fell in love. Fun fact: Biggie comes running when you call his name.
Unfortunately, Biggie's insurance is just about maxed out. We love him to pieces and want to do all we can for him. Any help would be so appreciated!
