Bigger and Better BBQ Fund

The Bigger and Better BBQ Fund started as a result of my passion for making the best meals for Food Maxx's manager meetings.   Lunches consisted of the same deli sandwiches time in and time out.  They were good, but we could be better.  The Senior Director of Customer Experience, Al Patino, heard about my BBQ prowess and asked if I could smoke a brisket for the next meeting.  Having never smoked a whole beef brisket, I accepted the challenge.    After a few tests runs and approximately 15 hours of smoking, it was ready for the management meeting.  It was a huge hit!! Al said "That was the best brisket I eaten since I've been in California."  Since that day I have been preparing the lunches for the quarterly division management meetings.    The BBQ has been enjoyed so much that I was asked to prepare lunch for the upcoming Food Maxx banner manager meeting.  This would require smoking 10 briskets at one time and my smoker is too small.  I am looking to buy a large smoker trailer that I could take to different events so I wouldn't have to reheat the meal.  What better way to exemplify the Save Mart Mission Statement than to share my passion for food with others: my peers, my co-workers, my friends.
