Big Rig Overseas Medical Costs

You may or may not know, but Dayle 'Big Rig' Phillips suffered a medical emergency on a flight last week and has been hospitalised in Singapore.

As he put it himself, 'My insides feel like they've been 12 rounds with Tyson'. The big fella has had 3 major operations and multiple blood transfusions to date and is hanging in there.

Those of who know Big Rig know what a good coach, support and mentor he is. He's a man who considers his boxing friends and family first, above all else. He might not be blessed with material wealth but has proved his worth to so many people over the years, with true loyalty, love and encouragement.

We're asking people to help us raise some cash to help pay off what will be substantial medical bills.

Anything helps... big or small we accept it all.

My name is Jason Thorogood and Dayle 'Big Rig' Phillips is a long time neighbour and a friend.

Big Rig was emergency transferred at Singapore whilst en route to from Perth, WA, to Japan. After departing from Perth he began losing a lot of blood and subsequently has had a number of emergency operations in Singapore to stabilise his condition.

The monies raised from this fund raiser are therefore to cover Big Rig's medical expenses/costs whilst in Singapore hospital care.

As I am uninformed as to the processes and procedures for these type of overseas emergency situations I am anticipating that these funds will be transferred directly from my account to the relevant hospital in Singapore, or perhaps the Australian Consulate? In the event Big Rig has access to internet banking, the funds raised may otherwise be transferred from my account to his personal account or his approved designated third party, e.g. the Australian consulate.
