“Big Mike” Mike Davidson

Friday, April 29th 2022 our families lives changed forever. Our Dad was rushed to the hospital late Friday night and then soon after life flighted to LVHN Cedar Crest diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurism reaching from his mid chest down to his mid thigh. If you know how tall our Dad is, that is the length of your arm. He was rushed into emergency surgery and after 7 hours in surgery he had made it through to recovery. He remained on a vent and heavily sedated to allow his body to heal. We later found out that he had a heart attack while he was in surgery. For the coming days, our family traveled to and from the hospital 115 miles round trip to be by his side. While on life support, he had two more cardiac incidents. Late Tuesday, our family received the call that no family should ever have to. Our Dad’s body was starting to fail and he would not make it through the night. Dad passed around 2am Wednesday morning.

Our Dad, the gentle giant, had the biggest heart and helped anyone that he could whenever he could. He could always make something out of nothing. Sara, Douglas, and I are asking for help with the enormous medical bills that will be rolling just after we put our father to rest. Any help is appreciated to take some of the financial burden and stress our mother will face in these coming weeks, months, and year without our father around.
