On Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 6:45 in the morning my Dad “Big Jeff” was hit head on by a pick up truck while riding his bike to work. Fortunately, the driver stopped and called 911 along with some other good Samaritan’s. He was immediately taken to the ED and rushed into surgery in order to salvage his left leg that had an open fracture. He has since been in the ICU with some other minor complications including multiple broken ribs, some bleeding and another surgery to internalize the hardware in his leg. Not to mention the amount of pain he is in, is unimaginable.
If anyone knows “Big Jeff”,then you know all the things he has done for his community, Bridesburg. You know how much he gives and NEVER takes. He has a VERY long and hard recovery ahead of him, including a inpatient rehab stay. You also know how hard of a worker he is and unfortunately he will be unable to work for months. He will have medical bills and doctor visits co-pays plus daily living expenses to deal with.He is literally still trying to take menu orders from his ICU bed because he doesn’t want to let anyone down.
We also know how hard and challenging the last couple of months have been for everyone and would kindly ask for any support you can give “Big Jeff” during his recovery. We will provide updates as he recovers! We are making his girlfriend (Edna Holt) of almost twenty years the beneficiary. She handles their daily living expenses plus all his doctor's visit co-pays and medical bills. So he can focus on getting better and won't have to worry about bills.
