For those of you who don’t know Jason aka Big J, has recently been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Jason will be receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatment for the unforeseeable future and will not be able to work for a minimum of 12 months while he goes through treatment.
Jason is a family man, works hard for his family and enjoys the simple things in life like camping and four wheel driving.
Jason is supported by his loving partner Amy, his children Courtney, Brett, Phoebe and Will, his Grandson Connor, his brother Brian and family, mates and of course, his fire fighting Family at Orchard Hills RFB.
Jason has a big heart, he is the glue that binds things together, he is a true Aussie bloke, down to earth and wears his heart on his sleeve.
Jason is one of the good ones, as we all know. He is the one that you can always depend on, dropping everything to help out family and his mates without a second thought.
Recently retired, Jason has been dedicated to protecting the community for over 25 years as a firefighter with both Llandilo and Orchard Hills Rural Fire Brigades in the Cumberland Zone.
Jason has been to countless incidents, protecting life and property of not just in our own community but communities across the state and beyond the borders.
Jason is a truck driver, delivering to all of NSW and interstate. During Covid Jason worked tirelessly to ensure his loads got to where they needed to be, ensuring that communities never went without.
As his fire fighting family we want to make sure that Jason has no financial stress the best we can do so he can concentrate on his treatment and getting well.
Its now our turn to help out Jason, a father, a grand father, a partner, a son, a brother and our Fire fighting brother.
Special words
Courtney - “dad is stubborn and I know he will kick cancers butt, I love you dad!”
Amy - We're incredibly humbled and thankful for all the love and support throughout this whole time, it's been really difficult to comprehend that Jason was rescuing cats 24hours earlier from the floods "the great soggy moggy rescue of 22" to now fighting for his life, and we love him so so dearly, but if anyone can beat this shit of a disease it's our Jason.
