Hello Everyone,
Our names are Lizzy Walker, Lindsey Rundell, Maia Yarrington, and Rylee Frey. We are seniors at Arapahoe High School. We are a part of a class called The Big Idea Project which is a non-profit organization that focuses on young leaders trying to make a difference in their communities. As a group we decided to work with Hero’s Puppies For Life, which is an organization led by Frank Griggs. He is a veteran who struggled severely with PTSD until his service dog, Bo, came into his life and made him realize that his PTSD didn't have control over him. After his own success with his service dog, he wanted to help other veterans and first responders that suffer from PTSD.
Our goal is to not only spread awareness, but also raise $5,000 in order to assist with the costs of a puppy and its training for a hero. One thing that we feel is important to mention is through the organization of Hero’s Puppy For Life, Frank believes that there should be no cost for the veteran or first responder because many of them are financially strapped.
We would appreciate any donations to give back to the hero’s that have served us. Linked below is our Instagram. We will be posting updates and pictures of our project as well as upcoming events. Feel free to share the link with family and friends to help spread the word!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message,
Lizzy Walker, Lindsey Rundell, Maia Yarrington, and Rylee Frey.
