Big Drip Hoops - Spring AAU Season
Donation protected
Big Drip Hoops is a Nonprofit Organization I started with my best friends in January of 2021. The plan was to use Winter and Spring to organize and develop teams, camps, clinics, trainings, and events for basketball players in South King County. Youth sports are extremely expensive and many kids don't have the opportunity to play or get focused player development outside of their school season because of the cost. I have always wanted to find a way to grow hoop in my community and provide opportunities to youth at little to no cost and this pandemic has made me realize that we all have to be ready to accept more responsibility when God puts it on our plate. What was supposed to start in August has started now!
With that being said, the first Big Drip Hoops team went down to Phoenix Arizona and won a Gold Championship in the "HoopSource Presidents Day National Championships." This one tournament has turned into a group of 16-18 year old's hoping to play in tournaments over the next couple months before their shortened school seasons. I hate asking for money but I would love to help these boys continue getting better and get more film. COVID has limited opportunities for kids to play at the next level and any way to get film will help in chasing that goal. Some of the boys are seniors and are chasing last minute opportunities to play at the next level.
Over the next 2 months we plan to play in at least 4 local tournaments (1 in WA and 3 in OR). Our costs include tournament fees and lodging. I don't make any money from the extra hoop stuff I do because I don't want to profit off kids chasing a goal. Whatever money I am able to raise will go straight to the boys and lower their cost to play in March and April.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. As this continues to grow and develop I will keep you all updated. Feel free to donate with funds, with labor (when opportunity arises), or with prayer! I appreciate you all.
Stay Blessed! #BigDripHoops
