Big DA Vs. Cancer
Donation protected
This challenge is forcing our dad to live the philosophies that he has so long espoused. And his community has shown up. The wagons have circled. But, it felt like a time to formalize that a little bit more.
First, we (Sophie and Ari) will be updating the CaringBridge every week to keep everyone informed of his treatment and also to provide a running journal of his ridiculousness through this process. Second, if you feel called to contribute any amount of money at all, it would be a huge help. Right now, Tanya is his full-time caretaker, while also doing most of his driving, shopping, cooking/cleaning, and still trying to steal time for income-producing work. Having some extra money to hire a little help would be a huge difference-maker for us.
It's not lost on any of us that:
a) This isn't the greatest of economic moments.
b) That our healthcare system is super fucked.
We still have no idea how much this entire process will cost, but the bills are already starting to arrive. For now, we haven't told Dad, since we want him to focus entirely on his battle with this disease. If you are in a position to help support him financially, we are so damn grateful.
If like so many of us, you don't have expendable income in this moment, but want to be a support, here's a link to sign up to help with meals, rides, and other hugely beneficial ways to help Tanya maintain her strength and sanity as Dad's sole caregiver.
One million thank-yous.
