Big Boy’s Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Big Boy, also known as The Dog in the Drain Pipe, has been a homeless resident of Clinton, Indiana for half a decade. He survived with the help of the residents and was recently brought to the shelter by a concerned citizen.
He was immediately scheduled for a vet appointment at West Central Rockville for a physical. The exam noted he had matted fur with debris, severe dental tartar with level 3-4 dental disease which will require a dental procedure, cataracts in both eyes, and an old injury to his left stifle causing permanent displacement to his knee which explains his limp. He was started on an appetite stimulant, antibiotics for his dental disease, and a pain medication for his limb injury.
During his intake at the shelter, he was vaccinated, treated for parasites, and given flea prevention. He tested positive for heartworms which will require treatment if the veterinarians believe he can safely make it through treatment.
Big Boy has had a grooming session performed by Jeri’s Dog Grooming in Clinton, IN and already looks better. He must feel good without those mats on his back.
Our goal with this fundraiser is to make Big Boy as comfortable as possible on his journey to becoming a couch dog. He has a foster family lined up and is so grateful for his new shelter friends and to all the people of Clinton who helped him get this far.
