‘Andrew and his friends Ben, Connor and Will return to their childhood campsite to
spread the ashes of his father. What Andrew intends to be a nostalgic weekend of
rekindling their friendships and giving his dad a proper farewell quickly spirals into an
emotionally draining trip, as awkwardness and rising tension surface within the group –
especially from Connor, who is awaiting a text regarding how his mother’s surgery has
gone. Things go from bad to worse when Ben, who is soon moving back to university,
leaves the ashes behind.
As they all struggle to rekindle their friendships, Andrew must confront his feelings
towards his friends whilst also dealing with his grief. By the end of the trip, he realises
there is no such thing as a “perfect” goodbye and that his father will always be with him.
The group also understand that their issues, despite how big they may seem, are
improved by sharing them with each other, and they will always be bound together by
their shared history’.
Hello, I'm Prudence and i'm super excited to be able to produce this film for my final year project, just like the rest of the crew. We are all in our final year of doing Film Production at the University of Salford and want to showcase this film to demonstrate all of our hard work over the last 3 years.
This short film will a coming-of- age film with elements of dark humour to communicate how young adult males deal with emotions. The film itself deals with the strong themes of nostalgia and brotherhood between these for distinct male characters but the underlying film will be dealing with men's mental health and how each of these characters go through their own personal issues. The reason for having an all-male cast will be helpful to present how men's mental health is becoming more known in today's society and how men talking about their feelings is more healthier than not sharing and being costumed to the stereotypical ' not being masculine enough'.
All the money we will raise will go towards bringing this project to life, covering the likes off:
- Cast and crew travel
- catering
- production design
- location
- film festivals
- accommodation for crew ( if required)
- Plus any other creative or logistical costs that we come towards during the production of the film!
Any and all donations are tremendously appreciated , and will help us bring this project to it's full potential. To show our appreciation, we will add your name to our 'Special Thanks' section of our credits and if you follow our Big Bad Wolf film Instagram, there will be regular updates on how your donation has helped us to create this project.
So to reiterate, Thank you so much for your help! We look forward to developing this film project and taking you on this amazing journey with us!
