Hi everyone.. I am B’s fiancé, Mikayla. On august 6th around noon, he was trying to get into our car where our 5 month old daughter and I were waiting for him, he was hit by a car before he could get in. He is currently in the ICU suffering from a broken femur, both fibulas, his left ankle, his tail bone (sacrum) snapped in half and multiple fractures in his pelvis. Since being in the ICU he has experienced complications such as a blood clot, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia due to his intubation, and internal bleeding and receiving countless blood transfusions… those who know B know that he is a hard worker and a proud dad and (future) husband. He is the sole provider for our family and has worked so hard for us so that I don’t have to and so that I can stay home and take care of our baby girl. I will now be caring for him and our daughter as he will need extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation after his multiple surgeries given everything goes as we hope during his stay in the ICU.
I want to thank everyone for their well wishes, prayers, positive thoughts, and healing vibes as our family tries to navigate through this unimaginably tough time. It will be a long road to his recovery, but with the love and support of our family and friends, we will make it. He is strong and fighting so hard— I know that he will be ok.
