Big Al - The Movie Man

Donation protected
I am Candise Marquette, little sister to Alfred Harris. Al had loved me at first sight when I was adopted by our parents at the age of 9 yrs old, and entered into his world to be his little sister. That was 50 years ago.  He was a fun-loving, soft spoken and an easy going man.  He didn't have a mean bone in his body nor uttered a harsh tone from his mouth.  He nature was simple, care-free and full of affection.  Al passed away this past Friday, 9/4/20  of COVID-19 and other underlying health complications including Parkinson's.

Al lived most of his life in San Bernardino, CA. He worked in both San Bernardino and Redlands, CA.   He was a people person.  He loved people and worked at the Krikorian Movie Theater, now called The Studio Grill.  That was a perfect place for him to express that love. He was an icon there and was referred to as "The Movie Guy" for over 15+ years. He was always at the door and greeted thousands.  These same people are remembering my brother and his gentle and kind nature.  They are posting tributes to his memory in many local news outlets, like Redlands Community News; and in front of The Studio Grill itself.

Unfortunately, Al was not prepared for death to come to his door this soon. He didn't leave things in order.  I now have the weighty responsibility of seeing to his cremation, with a memorial service amid COVID for all who have been calling to wish him farewell.  Being sure to tidy up his loose ends, and pay the legal fees to handle his probate. Due to the Labor Day Holiday, I had to wait to make certain calls about my next steps for him.  It has been very sad.

I need help in raising funds to take care of all his funeral/memorial affairs, closing his home during the probate period, clearing his belongings, and all else in between.   I live in Florida and he lived in our family home in California.    I don't even know how to recount all of what this whole process will exactly entail.  It's just a lot!  Al awaits my next steps concerning his remains in a hospital morgue.  Of course, nothing happens without the money to pay for them.  So, time is passing and I need funds as quickly as possible to begin.   I am asking those who can give to help me begin and finish this process well on Al's behalf.  He believed that a kindness given, would be a kindness returned.   Every single dollar would be greatly appreciated and would be lovingly and honestly spent on his behalf. Those that can't give; prayers are valuable too!  Encouragement is always needed!

Thank you all for your time and consideration in this very emotional and personal matter.  God Bless you and stay healthy and safe in this COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020!
